For more than 30 years, Greenleaf has helped thousands of individuals with disabilities achieve their career goals. However, our participants seeking employment still face challenges every day, including access to reliable transportation to and from work.
This spring, our team is committed to raising awareness of this all-too-common barrier and providing our community with life-changing transportation solutions and other important resources.

The Route to Real Impact
- $30 covers one-way transportation to or from work for a Greenleaf participant
- $60 covers one day of transportation to and from work for Greenleaf participants
- $100 provides one hour of 1-on-1 assistance for a Greenleaf participant
- $200 covers one class on self advocacy, job searching, job exploration, or social skills training for a Greenleaf participant
- $1,000 provides 5 Greenleaf participants with one class on self advocacy, job searching, job exploration, or social skills training
- $2,000 gives one Greenleaf participant the ability to complete our 10-week Empowering Employment course
By the Numbers: Driving Possibility
- 10 million Americans (ages 18 to 64) self-report travel-limiting disabilities.
- Only 33% of adults with disabilities are able to work full or part-time, compared to 75% of people without travel-limiting disabilities.
- People with disabilities are three times more likely to rely on public transportation services.
- The unemployment rate for individuals with disabilities is more than twice the national average for individuals without disabilities.

Participant Story
Sebastian, a recent Greenleaf participant, struggled to find transportation, making it difficult to land a steady job after graduating from high school. However, through Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, Sebastian was connected with Greenleaf, opening a whole new world of possibilities. OOD and Greenleaf worked with Sebastian to obtain a bus pass and provide alternative transportation to interviews and the Health Department for work-mandated drug tests and vaccines. Now, Sebastian is thriving professionally, working at the Hilton with the support of a Job Coach.
